The China International Battery Fair (CIBF) opened grandly in Chongqing on April 27th. The exhibition brought together professional visitors and overseas buyers from over 50 countries and regions around the world. Tianqi Lithium presented its low-carbon products at the exhibition and was invited to attend the Battery Passport and Sustainable Development Technology Seminar, exploring more cooperation opportunities in the global new energy industry with over 2,000 domestic and foreign peers participating in the exhibition.

Technology is the primary productive force, and innovation is the primary driving force. With the theme of "Connecting the World · Empowering Greenness - Driving the Future," CIBF2024 attracted over 100,000 visitors on the first day of the exhibition. Tianqi Lithium's exhibition area was bustling with activity, attracting many well-known scholars, industry-related experts, and customers from China, Japan, Korea, Europe, and India to stop by for visits and exchanges. Tianqi Lithium highlighted its low-carbon products, including novel battery materials such as lithium sulfide and silica-alumina micropowder. A customer from Japan commented, "Tianqi Lithium's next-generation lithium sulfide products for solid-state batteries are highly competitive in terms of technology roadmap and cost. We are very excited about further cooperation with Tianqi in this area." 

Research and development on comprehensive recycling and utilization of lithium slag for "reduction, resource utilization, and high value-added" are crucial for the sustainable development of the lithium industry chain. Tianqi Lithium's case display on green production, environmental protection, and social responsibility attracted the attention of many customers. A European customer said, "Tianqi Lithium's achievements in the comprehensive utilization of lithium slag with high value-added are remarkable, not only promoting the sustainable development of the new energy industry but also providing more quality and environmentally friendly raw material options for downstream enterprises."

Deepening sustainable development and aligning with international standards

This CIBF invited many academicians, experts, industry elites, and entrepreneurs to deliver over 200 academic reports and keynote speeches, with many industry leaders sharing and discussing the future development direction of the new energy industry. Steven Capell from the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) clarified in his keynote speech on "Electronic Product Passports in the Context of International Supply Chain Transparency - Introduction to the UN Transparency Convention" that the UN Transparency Convention requires enterprises to disclose sustainability information in their financial reports. China plays a pivotal role in various global industrial supply chains, and it is hoped that more Chinese enterprises will join the UN Transparency Convention pilot program. Through continuous verification of industry pilots, relevant industry standards will be formulated.

Currently, domestic enterprises and organizations are actively promoting work related to green, low-carbon, and sustainable development, such as battery passport standards. Tianqi Lithium has already made active preparations in this area. The company has established a sustainable supply chain management team to build and improve the sustainable supply chain management system, identify and assess ESG-related risks in the supply chain, effectively prevent and manage risks, actively carry out supplier traceability work, and continuously disclose and report to stakeholders, promoting green development in the lithium industry chain.
