Background

In October of this year, Chilean President Gabriel Boric, along with a delegation, conducted a state visit to China and participated in the Third Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum. During his stay in China, President Boric visited Sichuan and led the delegation to explore the Li Science Museum. Concurrently, Tianqi Lithium was invited to join the 8th Chile Week and the 10th Annual Meeting of the China-Chile Entrepreneurs Committee in 2023, engaging in dialogues with various Chilean dignitaries and business representatives. In December, Tianqi Lithium's delegation embarked on a return visit to Chile, aiming to further expand cooperation in talent exchange, cultural interaction, and sustainable development.

From December 4th to 7th, Ms. Jiang Anqi, Vice Chairwoman of Tianqi Lithium, and Mr. Xia Juncheng, Director and President of Tianqi Lithium, separately met with Chile's Minister of Mining, Ms. Aurora Williams, Mr. Nicolas Grau, Chile's Minister of Economy, Mr. Jose Miguel Benavente, Executive Vice President of the Production Promotion Bureau (CORFO), and Ms. Claudia Sanhueza, Deputy Minister of International Economic Relations at the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, they visited collaborating institutions in Chile: the University of Chile, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and the University of Antofagasta.

During this return visit to Chile, Tianqi Lithium engaged in amicable discussions with various stakeholders, focusing on topics such as ESG and sustainable development, new opportunities in the lithium battery industry, and Sino-Chilean talent exchange and research and development innovation.

As a new energy materials company with lithium at its core, Tianqi Lithium has been deeply rooted in the industry for 30 years, adhering to the principle that "economic interests never override safety and environmental protection." Actively integrating pollution reduction and carbon reduction into its operations, the company collaborates with stakeholders to contribute to global climate and ecological governance.
