Director of Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office Cui Zhiwei met with Tianqi Director & President HA, Frank Chun Shing and his delegation in Chengdu on May 18, 2021.

During their talks, Mr. Cui first affirmed Tianqi’s investment in Australian and Chilean projects as a representative of the “Going Out” Initiative in Sichuan, and also its positive role in Sichuan’s opening up and global anti-pandemic efforts.

As he said, Tianqi’s investment in SQM was the largest project (in terms of volume) between China and Chile, which set an example for Sichuan enterprises to cooperate with Chilean ones, and provided useful experience for China-Chile cooperation in economy, trade and investment. Currently gripped by COVID-19, the world has been navigating complex international currents, and he hopes that enterprises will expand their overseas projects in a steady pace based on a keen knowledge of both domestic and global landscape. And Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, as a coordinator, will offer them guidance and services.

Mr. HA, Frank Chun Shing thanked Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office for supporting Tianqi to expand its overseas market. Facing the new landscape, Tianqi will build on its resources and advantages in past economic and trade cooperations with enterprises from Chile, Australia and other countries to further contribute to Sichuan's opening up and global cooperation.
