On December 28, 2021, MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), an index compilation giant and ESG index rating agency, updated Tianqi Lithium’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) rating to BB from B because of its outstanding performance in the field. The upgrading reflects the international market's recognition of the its corporate governance, ESG management level and sustainable development ability.

In recent years, Tianqi has strengthened its efforts and made the following progress in terms of ESG:

- Utilization rate of water cycle was improved significantly

- Chemical safety management rules were further clarified

- Anti-corruption policies were released

- ESG was incorporated into corporate governance framework
