On July 29th, Tianqi Lithium was invited to the 14th Annual CSR Conference held by Southern Weekly. During the conference, the company was awarded as one of the 2022 Emerging Responsible Enterprises and included in the CSR List of Southern Weekly China (2021). Ms. Xiong Wangyu, Vice President of Tianqi Lithium was invited to a roundtable dialogue on the theme of "Sustainable Businesses and a Zero-Carbon Future”. She exchanged her views with experts, academics and enterprise representatives on the trend of sustainable business and also corporate carbon reduction models in the new era.

Pass on the spirit of volunteerism and get everyone involved
Tianqi Lithium was invited by Chengdu Charity Federation to the Sub-Forum of the Second CSR and Sustainable Development Innovation Week -- Dialogue on Public Welfare, Charity, Sustainable Development, and the Building and Sharing of a Culturally Advanced City on July 14. The company was also appointed as the "Vice Chair organization" of the Corporate Volunteer Service Alliance. On July 15, Tianfu CSR Night awarded Tianqi Lithium the "Tianfu CSR Innovation Award". Since its founding, Tianqi Lithium has never forgotten its social responsibility, not only building a global public welfare platform and a professional volunteer team made up of its employees, but also expanding volunteering channels to communities. The company has developed policies and provided funds for this purpose, and has organized countless meaningful volunteer services to change the world with lithium. Join hands with global partners to promote international ESG exchanges and cooperation
The celebrations for Tianqi Lithium’s successful listing on Hong Kong Stock Exchange were held simultaneously in Hong Kong, Chengdu and Santiago, Chile on July 13. That day, Niu Qingbao, Chinese Ambassador to Chile, attended the signing and unveiling ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on China-Latin America Sustainable Development Knowledge Network. Jointly established by Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso, Chile, Tianqi Lithium and China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Importers and Exporters, this network aims to study theories and ways suitable for the practical and sustainable development of China and Latin American countries, launch sustainable development initiatives, start ESG platform construction, and promote ESG cooperation and exchanges between China and Latin America. Upon completion, it will provide applied research and related training, enhance company’s ability to fulfill social responsibility, and add new impetus to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. After the celebration, Wu Yabin, director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) Beijing, formed an ITPO delegation to visit the Chengdu Headquarters of Tianqi Lithium to research and exchange ideas about ESG and sustainable development.

Practice ESG concept and make full use of zero carbon innovation achievements
The 2nd Innovation Week of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development kicked off in Chengdu on July 11, inviting people from across sectors to talk about CSR and sustainable development. Xiong Wanyu, vice president of Tianqi Lithium, was invited to deliver a keynote speech entitled "Low Carbon Responsibility and Sustainable Development". She said: "Tianqi actively answers the national call on low-carbon development. We officially started carbon inventory and evaluated product carbon footprint at the organizational level in 2021. Now we are, with the help of the carbon management team, setting systematic goals of carbon planning and setting out paths for carbon emission reduction. Tianqi Lithium Sustainable Development Report 2021, the company’s fifth report, has been released. This is also a first separate report published in multiple languages including Chinese, English and Spanish. In the future, Tianqi will actively respond to the challenges brought by climate change, and contribute to economic prosperity as well as a diversified and sustainable ecosystem."

On July 12th, together with experts in clean energy and low-carbon development from universities, research institutes and social organizations, Tianqi Lithium established the Zero Carbon and Sustainable Development Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Innovation Center), and held an unveiling ceremony at Chengdu Luxelakes Art Expo Center. This Innovation Center will bring together international think tanks and make full use of the Industry-University-Research collaborative development to promote the commercialization of technological achievements, popularize the utilization of zero-carbon technology, achieve platform docking, and promote sustainable development. The Center will give intellectual and technological support to achieve “carbon peak and carbon neutrality”. It will share zero-carbon innovation achievements and resources and help Sichuan achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
