Zou Xiaoli, Chinese Ambassador to Argentina, met with Jiang Anqi, Vice Chairwoman of Tianqi Lithium, and HA Frank Chun Shing, Tianqi’s CEO on December 1, Argentina time. Xia Diya, Minister Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Argentina and Xiong Wanyu, Vice President of Tianqi Lithium, also attended the meeting.

Ms. Jiang Anqi shared Tianqi's work on sci-tech R&D and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices and what the delegation had learned from its business trip to Argentina. She said that Tianqi Lithium, as a leading power of new energy material with lithium as the core, is committed to developing and utilizing more clean energy so that it can contribute to the sustainable development of humanity. China and Argentina have complementary advantages in the above-mentioned fields, and Tianqi is willing to have more industrial cooperation with Argentina.

Ambassador Zou Xiaoli noted that the year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The bilateral cooperation agreement of the Belt and Road has made the cooperation, including that on lithium mining, deliver more solid outcomes. He encouraged Tianqi Lithium to seize the opportunity and expand new channels of cooperation with the Argentinean side so that the two sides could explore international markets and enjoy mutual benefits.
