On November 24, 2020, a gathering to honor model workers and exemplary individuals is held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China. Xu Chuan, head of the Research and Development of Shehong Plant of Tianqi, was recognized as a national model worker by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. The honorary title is the highest honor for Chinese workers and is selected every five years.

Xu is good at exploring technological improvements and technology development trends of the industry. During the eight years in Tianqi Lithium, he always does his work diligently and assiduously. He has also applied for several research projects and completed them seriously, so he has achieved fruitful results. Up to now, Xu has obtained 18 national authorized patents, including 9 invention patents, and participated in the formulation and revision of 5 national and industrial standards. With the research and development achievements he participated in, Tianqi improved product quality and core technical competitiveness, resulting in good economic benefits. These achievements also played a positive role in promoting social and economic developments.
