Senegalese Ambassador to China Sylla and Delegation Visit Tianqi Lithium
On May 9, His Excellency Ibrahima Sory Sylla, Ambassador of Senegal to China, led his delegation visited the Shehong facility of Tianqi Lithium. Fan Yonglan, General Manager of the Shehong facility, along with the management team warmly welcomed the visitors.
In the plant’s exhibition hall, Ambassador Sylla engaged with detailed presentations and displays, exploring Tianqi Lithium’s 30-year journey in the lithium industry and its sustainable development strategic plan. He shared that this visit had deepened his understanding of the core materials industry for new energy batteries.
During the visit, Ambassador Sylla spoke highly of Suining’s closed-loop industrial cluster, which covers “mineral extraction-basic lithium salts-battery cathode and anode materials-end-use applications-recycling.” He noted, “Suining’s success in establishing itself as the ‘Lithium Hub’ and attracting major lithium enterprises like Tianqi is truly admirable. The local lithium industry’s achievements have left a deep impression on him.”
General Manager Fan Yonglan emphasized that Tianqi Lithium’s resilient and sustainable growth stems from its ongoing commitment to high-quality development driven by technological innovation, coupled with multidimensional government support—including policy incentives, resource allocation, and cross-industry partnerships—shaping a robust lithium ecosystem. Ambassador Sylla fully endorsed this view, stating: “Senegal will leverage Tianqi’s expertise and China’s lithium sector model to accelerate its own industrial transformation.”
