Tianqi Lithium Successfully Holds Safety Production Committee Annual Meeting

To thoroughly review and summarize the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) work for 2024, build consensus, and define clear objectives for safety production in 2025, Tianqi Lithium successfully held its 2024 Safety Production Committee Annual Meeting on January 7. The meeting was attended by Mr Frank HA, Director and CEO of Tianqi Lithium, and Mr Guo Wei, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, both of whom delivered speeches. Other senior executives, Safety Committee members, and EHS management staff participated in the meeting both in person and online.


During the meeting, Mr Pan Xin, from the EHS Department, provided a comprehensive and in-depth report on the progress of the 2024 EHS goals and initiatives. He reviewed the company’s overall EHS efforts, including incident analysis, the establishment of a dual prevention mechanism, and the achievements in EHS digitalization. He also outlined the EHS work plan for 2025. The meeting reviewed and approved the 2025 EHS target-setting plan and the results of the 2024 EHS awards. Heads of various plants and projects delivered summary reports on their annual EHS performance.



Mr Guo Wei provided an overview of the company’s EHS performance in 2024. He noted that the company performed well across all EHS metrics, with results exceeding the set targets. The company successfully established a robust EHS framework, advancing work in EHS compliance, system development, training, and risk control. Furthermore, the company made significant strides in innovation by launching the "Zero Waste" initiative and advancing EHS information management, which helped improve operational efficiency. Mr Guo emphasized that in 2025, the company must continue to refine its management systems, strengthen its safety mindset, enhance risk management and process control, improve incident response and emergency capabilities, and further advance EHS digitalization to elevate overall EHS management and ensure both employee safety and business growth.



Mr Frank HA stated that EHS management is fundamental to the company’s development. He emphasized that all management levels must adopt a safety-first mindset and integrate safety into all processes and job responsibilities. He called for continuous improvement of the safety risk prevention system, enhanced coordination between headquarters and bases, and a deepening of efforts in risk control, hazard identification, and risk alerting, especially in high-risk areas such as hazardous chemicals, project construction, mining, and pilot R&D activities. Mr HA stressed the importance of creating a culture of safety responsibility across the company, led by senior management, and leveraging top-level design to ensure strong safety leadership. He also encouraged the sharing of best EHS practices and the integration of digital tools to support high-quality development. The company is committed to building an industry-leading EHS management system that is both sustainable and effective.


With clear goals and a relentless commitment, Tianqi Lithium will continue to forge ahead in the new year. Upholding the business philosophy of“ economic benefits never override the

environment or people’s safety and well-being”, the company will deepen its responsibility system, continuously enhance intrinsic safety, and take concrete actions to protect the health and safety of every employee, ensuring the company’s long-term sustainable development.
