Sri Lankan President Disanayaka Visits Tianqi Lithium

On January 17, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Disanayaka, during his visit to Sichuan, China, visited the Tianqi Lithium Li Science Museum. Tianqi Lithium's founder and the advocate of the Li Science Museum, Mr. Jiang Weiping, along with his team, warmly welcomed the delegation.

At the Li Science Museum, through advanced audio-visual technology and interactive visualization displays, lithium was presented to President Disanayaka and his delegation in various forms. The displays included natural forms of lithium, products made with lithium as an industrial additive, and modern applications of lithium as the core material in the new energy sector.


The comprehensive system of lithium scientific knowledge, the immersive panoramic experience, and the vivid presentation of the global lithium battery industry’s development prospects left a deep impression on President Disanayaka and his team.

During his visit to Sichuan, President Disanayaka stated that Sri Lanka and Sichuan have strong complementarities in their development and great potential for cooperation. He expressed his willingness to actively promote closer exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various fields, welcoming more Sichuan enterprises to invest and develop in Sri Lanka, and encouraging more Sichuan friends to visit Sri Lanka for tourism, with the goal of enhancing mutual understanding and promoting common development and prosperity.

Accompanying the delegation were Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation Bimal Rathnayake, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the People’s Republic of China Majintha Jayesinghe; China’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Qi Zhenhong; officials from relevant departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sichuan Foreign Affairs Office, and Tianfu New Area.
