I had the privilege of visiting the Chengdu Li Science Museum. The entire experience was both interesting and enriching, leaving a lasting impression. For those passionate about the environment, mining, and science and technology, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

Guided by a docent, we stepped into the Li Science Museum. It is a beautifully and thoughtfully designed building, with a logical layout and a strong sense of modern technology. The exhibit areas were clean, orderly, and equipped with clear signage, making it easy for us to understand the concepts and displays.

During the visit, I gained a deep appreciation for lithium as a crucial strategic mineral in the energy transition, driving the world towards a low-carbon culture and promoting the use of clean, renewable, and green energy. Lithium plays a significant role in the economic and sustainable development of many cities worldwide. Additionally, the museum showcased the extensive applications of lithium in various fields, including low-carbon industries, health, aerospace technology, and battery production. This information was conveyed in a clear and objective manner through interactive displays, immersing us in a sea of technology.

Throughout the demonstrations, we observed and learned about the entire lithium production chain, from the extraction of minerals such as spodumene to the manufacturing of batteries, covering each stage in detail.

As an environmental engineer working in mining and remote sensing, I am pleased to see the concept of smart cities gradually becoming a reality. These cities focus on environmental issues and actively promote development to improve the quality of life for people locally and globally. In this context, we recognize that fossil fuel engines are one of the major sources of carbon emissions in the atmosphere. I believe that electric transportation is a crucial step in reducing carbon emissions, as they are closely linked to climate change and global warming. So far, despite continuous exploration, humanity has not yet discovered an economically viable and effective technology that can significantly reduce the environmental impact of transportation without relying on lithium.

The Li Science Museum is dedicated to educating the public about the past, present, and future of lithium, telling the scientific story of lithium, and continually promoting the concept of sustainable development and harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

We hope to let more people experience the charm of the Li Science Museum, inspiring a love for science and a spirit of exploration. Let us continue to explore the mysteries of the Li Science Museum together and embark on a wonderful journey into the world of lithium.
