Sustainability
As a lithium-focused new energy materials enterprise, we firmly prioritize occupational health and safety as the cornerstone of our development. We adhere to the principle that economic interests will never supersede safety, environmental considerations, and health, and we integrate occupational health and safety management into our corporate development strategy at the same time, aiming for zero accidents and fostering an industry-leading safety culture.
Governance
Tianqi Lithium established a Safety Production Committee (SPC), serving as the highest collective leadership and decision-making body for occupational health and safety. This committee includes the president of the company, managers at all
levels, union representatives, employee representatives, and other relevant individuals, with comprehensive oversight of the company’s occupational health and safety management. Additionally, an office within the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Department implements the decisions of the Safety Production Committee and manages daily occupational health and safety functions. Furthermore, each production base has formed its own Safety Committee, led by the base manager, to ensure the effective execution of occupational health and safety initiatives.
Indicators and Targets
In 2024, we have closely adhered to our development strategy and production operations. Based on our safety production responsibility system, we have established an annual goal indicator system that spans from management to frontline employees.
Our overall targets include achieving zero Level 1 accidents and a 100% completion rate for the annual EHS work plan. We will decompose these holistic health and safety objectives into specific indicators for each base and department as follows:
The number of Level 1 and Level 2 incidents. The company defines incident levels, starting from the incident of lost time, based on the extent of injuries, economic losses, production interruptions, and damage to reputation that occur in production and related activities.
The completion rate of the annual EHS work plan. According to safety process management elements, we have developed an annual work plan that includes key aspects such as education and training, risk classification control, hazard detection, emergency response and drills, and safety culture. Monthly follow-ups can ensure the effective management of occupational health and safety efforts.
At the same time, we will implement a series of measures to achieve our goals by systematically distributing safety production responsibilities, building an efficient information communication platform, continuously optimizing our occupational
health and safety management system, deeply reinforcing risk process control, comprehensively promoting safety training for all employees, and innovating EHS information management methods. We aim to foster a safety culture that
prioritizes prevention and encourages total participation, creating a safe and healthy working environment that guarantees employee well-being and our unwavering commitment to social responsibility.
