On the morning of September 9, the first cohort of Peking University Guanghua School of Management's "Strategists in the Dual-Carbon Era" program visited Tianqi Lithium, toured the Li Science Museum, and engaged in discussions. Ms. Xiong Wanyu, Senior Vice President of Tianqi Lithium, warmly welcomed the group along with her team.

At the Li Science Museum, the delegation from Peking University Guanghua School of Management gained an in-depth understanding of the history and future of lithium, as well as its critical role in advancing the global transition to green energy and sustainable development. ESG and carbon experts participated in interactive discussions on the global distribution of lithium, its wide range of applications, decarbonization initiatives across the lithium industry’s supply chain, and the development of 3D printing technology. The museum’s immersive panoramic experience and comprehensive lithium science exhibits left a lasting impression on the visiting faculty and students. They were particularly captivated by the audio-visual setup at Tianqi Lithium's Institute of Sustainable Development, which was described as "refreshingly unique." A series of animal footprints showcased the company’s efforts in supporting intangible cultural heritage, local traditions, and its ESG initiatives both domestically and internationally.

At the roundtable discussion, Ms. Wanyu Xiong, Senior Vice President of Tianqi Lithium, warmly welcomed the faculty and students of Peking University Guanghua School of Management’s first cohort of the "Strategists in the Dual-Carbon Era" program. She provided a detailed overview of the company’s development journey and global strategic industrial layout. Since 2016, Tianqi Lithium has established a dedicated ESG department, actively promoting the coordinated development of economic, social, and environmental goals while continuously deepening its ESG and sustainability strategies. Currently, Tianqi’s ESG efforts align with China's "carbon peak by 2030" and "carbon neutrality by 2060" goals, driving various climate change initiatives. The company is gradually integrating relevant ESG metrics into daily production, management, and operations while vigorously advancing carbon management efforts. This approach aligns seamlessly with the "Strategists in the Dual-Carbon Era" program's focus on exploring low-carbon transition pathways and establishing a high-level understanding of dual-carbon strategies.

Mr. Wang Hongying, Director of Institution of Financial Derivatives of China(HongKong), mentioned that as the industry continues to undergo financialization and securitization in the future, higher demands will be placed on risk management across the entire supply chain. He highlighted that Tianqi Lithium's relentless pursuit of compliance, its precise insights into industry trends, and its comprehensive grasp of strategic opportunities throughout its development have left the market thoroughly impressed.

Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on ESG practices and sustainable development initiatives. They also watched the original sand painting video We Share, which previously won the Sustainable Development Film Award at the Odyssey Film Festival. The faculty and students expressed their admiration for the achievements Tianqi Lithium has made in ESG and sustainable development efforts.

Tianqi Lithium has long supported academic-industry research collaborations, and the visit of the first cohort of the "Strategists in the Dual-Carbon Era" program marks yet another significant milestone in the mutual learning and collaboration between Tianqi and Peking University Guanghua School of Management. Looking ahead, both parties will further explore sustainable development initiatives with a focus on carbon reduction, contributing to China’s and the global energy transition from both academic and industrial perspectives.
