“Enhancing Skills for a Brighter Future with Lithium” -- the 2023 First-line Employee Skills Competition at Tianqi Lithium Chongqing

On September 12, Tianqi Lithium Chongqing hosted its third First-line Employee Skills Competition under the theme “Enhancing Skills for a Brighter Future with Lithium.” Capturing the essence of craftsmanship, the event aims to motivate employees to study and work diligently and strive for excellence and to bolster the company's skilled workforce as part of its talent-centric strategy.



Competition Highlight

The two-week competition drew in 128 participants, which accounted for 92% of the total workforce. Employees from various departments, including electrolysis, chemical material, distillation, packaging, and extrusion in the Production Department, as well as mechanics, electrical instrumentation in the Equipment Department, and chemical analysis in the Process Technology Department, took part in the event. The competition comprised two segments: a practical operation and a theoretical written test. Contestants demonstrated exceptional preparation, exhibiting refined skills and a deep sense of professionalism. The intense competition recognized 7 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 7 third prizes, 9 excellence awards, along with 3 outstanding teams.

On September 27, to motivate employees in enhancing their technical skills, Qin Min, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions in Tongliang District, along with Wang Jing, Vice Chairman of the CPC Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee in Tongliang Hi-Tech Zone, and relevant leaders from the district’s Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, attended the ceremony and presented the prizes to the employees. Mr. Zhao Benchang, the company's general manager, provided a comprehensive analysis touching upon industry development, company strategy, and talent cultivation. He also expressed further aspirations and expectations for skilled talents. He articulated his hope that they would cherish the honor, redouble their efforts, and serve as exemplary models, inspiring more employees to enhance their theoretical and operational skills.

Simultaneously, Tianqi Lithium Chongqing clinched the second prize in the 2022 Chongqing Online Labor and Skills Competition themed "Aligning with the 14th Five-Year Plan and Embarking on a New Journey." Qin Min, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions in Tongliang District, presented the company with a medal.

The Skill Competition serves as a platform for employees to showcase their abilities and compete alongside their colleagues, fostering a robust culture that values labor and skill. The company plans to organize more such competitions and enhance talent development initiatives, aiming to create a conducive environment for skilled professionals and thereby propel the company's growth.
