On the afternoon of August 19th, the Chengdu Demei Youth Science and Technology Research Camp visited the Tianqi Lithium  Li Science Museum. 70 campers from Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and Ziyang started their research journey with Tianqi as the starting point, with the theme of "Science and Technology Innovation Building Dreams, Youth Sailing", to "decipher" the world of new energy materials.

When it comes to the mysterious element of "lithium" in the kingdom of chemistry, the campers on site are filled with infinite curiosity and enthusiasm for exploration about its long past and rapidly changing current situation.  It is these curious questions that illuminated the fantastic journey of exploring the "lithium" element, leading the students of the study camp into a scientific field full of miracles and discoveries.

Entering the Li Science Museum, a row of lithium element exhibition areas come into view. Through sound, light, and electricity technology, the history of lithium element application, the promotion of lithium extraction technology, the evolution of the lithium , and the key role played by lithium in shaping a 'zero carbon' earth and achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and nature are presented to children in a simple and understandable way.  The on-site science popularization film vividly depicts the mysterious origin of lithium element and its important position in human civilization, technological progress, lifestyle, and even global energy transition and environmental protection through artistic and conceptual techniques.  Through promotional videos, campers have gained a preliminary understanding of lithium.

Classmates, look at this' mineral 'quickly. "As the voice of the Tianqi volunteer followed, the children saw a seemingly ordinary stone." This is a mineral containing lithium, "the volunteer told everyone." Actually, lithium can also be considered an ancient longevity star in nature. "He explained that light elements including hydrogen, helium, and lithium were produced by primitive nuclear reactions in a very short period of time after the birth of the universe.

Subsequently, the students followed in the footsteps of volunteers to the second floor of the Science Museum, where they eagerly went to their interested areas to explore the mysteries of lithium in an immersive interactive experience.

On the second floor of the Li Science Museum, a display device immediately caught the attention of the campers present.  This is the 'lithium mine', which achieves a 360 degree panoramic realistic restoration through cutting-edge immersive projection technology, "said the volunteer.  At this moment, the children seem to be immersed in a real and fantastical world of lithium mines.  The projection technology cleverly presents the distribution of lithium resources around the world one by one, with mountains, lakes, plateaus, deserts... every place contains the "traces" of lithium, and every place showcases the amazing craftsmanship of nature.

Here, we not only explored the basic properties of lithium and its scientific research process, but also gained a deep understanding of how lithium is extracted from nature and refined into various compound products, "said Li Mingzhe, a student from Deyang No.5 Middle School, excitedly." After listening to the explanation, I realized that lithium has such rich forms, which is really amazing

Tianqi volunteers also provided detailed explanations and vivid images to help children systematically understand the wide application of lithium in modern technology.  Through participating in this study camp, I have come to a profound understanding that lithium, as a core element, has a wide range of applications that permeate every aspect of our daily lives, from indispensable smartphones to environmentally friendly electric vehicles, to traditional crafts such as ceramic  and glass manufacturing, all of which rely on the participation of lithium. This firsthand experience has allowed me to truly feel how lithium profoundly affects our way of life and technological progress, "said Luo Xujing from Chengdu No.7 Middle School Affiliated Primary School excitedly.  During the process of participating in this study tour, I deeply experienced the cutting-edge technology of the lithium battery  and the widespread application of lithium elements in our daily lives, "said Zhang Yuzhe, a student from Su Che Middle School in Dongpo District, Meishan City, with emotion.

At the Sustainable Development Institute on the third floor of the Li Science Museum, campers transformed into small "craftsmen" and made handmade fans. Students focused on their work, patiently and carefully completing fans of various styles.

This study tour is guided by the Office of the Leading Group for Promoting Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and Ziyang Integration Development in Sichuan Province, and jointly organized by the Chengdu Association for Science and Technology, Deyang Association for Science and Technology, Meishan Association for Science and Technology, and Ziyang Association for Science and Technology. The aim is to fully leverage the important role of the Li Science Museum in promoting science popularization and improving the scientific literacy of young people, and to contribute to the cultivation of more innovative and research-oriented young people, the development of Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and Ziyang integration, and the construction of the Chengdu metropolitan area by providing a solid talent reserve.
