On May 22, at the conference on comprehensively advancing the construction of the national primary and secondary school science education experimental zones held in Sichuan Tianfu New Area, 15 organizations including Tianqi Lithium Li Science Museum were officially designated as the first cohort of “Shared Science and Education Bases.” As the world's first immersive science popularization museum centered on the element lithium, the Li Science Museum will leverage the advantages of the new energy industry and deeply integrate into the construction of the primary and secondary school science education experimental zones, providing young people with a technology practice platform that unites knowledge and action, and fostering future innovators committed to green development.
“This not only affirms the company's commitment to social responsibility, but also presents a valuable opportunity to deepen industry-education integration,” said the head of the Li Science Museum. Since its opening in October 2023, the Li Science Museum has taken “empowering education” as its mission and innovatively built a three-in-one study system called “Lithium VisionClassroom,” which combines “theoretical teaching + scenario practice + interactive discussion.” It has collaborated with well-known local primary and secondary schools to develop new energy-themed courses. In 2024, By partnering with initiatives such as the “Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Youth Science Eagle Study Camp”，the Li Science Museumorganized cross-regional practical activities, offering immersive lithium knowledge learning experiences to over 5,000 visitors of all ages.
Inside the museum, interactive audiovisual and electric technologies are used to transform scientific knowledge about lithium extraction, green energy transition, and the new energy industry into fun and engaging interactions. This not only cultivates young people’s innovative thinking and practical abilities,but also helps instill in the new generation a deep-rooted understanding of green development and building China a global leader in science and technology, making the Li Science Museum an important local supplement to quality science popularization education.
This collaboration will help Tianfu NewArea build a three-tiered science education system of “foundation + expansion + research”. Tianqi Lithium will use the “Shared Science and Education Base” as a fulcrum to deepen resource sharing with the education system and contribute lithium industry strength to building a collaborative “government-industry-research-education-application” talent cultivation ecosystem. In the future, the Li Science Museum will continue to provide industry innovation practice cases to nurture a new generation equipped with scientific literacy and a strong sense of environmental responsibility—contributing to the realization of China’s “dual carbon” goals.
