On November 8, a delegation from the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG), led by Dean and CEO Karen Baeton-Wells, visited Tianqi Lithium. They were warmly welcomed by Tianqi Lithium’s Director and President, Mr. Frank Ha, and the company’s senior management team. Joining the delegation were Ms Meaghan Shaw, Consul-General at the Australian Consulate-General in Chengdu, and Cai Heping, Deputy Director of the International and Hong Kong-Macao Training Center of the Central Party School.

During the meeting, Mr.Ha extended a warm welcome to Ms. Baeton-Wells and her delegation, providing an in-depth overview of Tianqi Lithium’s history and global operations. He highlighted the company’s contributions to job creation in Australia, its ESG and sustainability initiatives, and the recognition it has received from both the Chinese and Australian governments and communities. Emphasizing the shared goals of Australia, New Zealand, and China in advancing the global green energy transition, Mr. Ha expressed his hope for future collaboration with ANZSOG in policy exchange and talent development within the new energy sector, fostering progress in green energy transformation and global sustainability.
Ms. Baeton-Wells expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by Tianqi Lithium. She noted that her visit provided valuable insights into the pivotal role Tianqi has played in establishing Australia’s first lithium hydroxide plant, driving the development of Australia’s downstream lithium industry. She also recognized Tianqi’s achievements in promoting technological innovation, sustainable development, and international cooperation within the global new energy landscape.
Mr. David Olsson, Deputy Director of ANZSOG’s Senior Civil Servant Seminar, praised Tianqi’s successful investments in Australia as a model for international industrial cooperation. He emphasized the strong interest among Australian and New Zealand officials in learning more about China’s advancements in the new energy sector. Looking ahead, Mr. Olsson affirmed ANZSOG’s commitment to facilitating communication and collaboration among stakeholders to jointly create a greener and more sustainable future.
