From May 24 to June 1, 2024, under the theme of "Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Inspiring Innovation Across Society" for National Science and Technology Week, the Chengdu Science and Technology Promotion Center, Sichuan Tianfu New Area Science and Technology Innovation Service Center, Chengdu Science Media Center, and Chengdu Science Education Base Association jointly planned the themed event "Scientific Path for Children - 2024 Chengdu Science and Technology Week· Children's Day Science Exploration." This event aims to let children experience the charm of science up close, ignite their curiosity and interest in science, and sow the seeds of scientific inquiry in their hearts.
The Li Science Museum, as a key research site for this science exploration activity, not only provided a unique science venue but also offered a wealth of knowledge related to lithium science. The museum, the world's only Li Science Museum, captivated an increasing number of children, making it the "star venue" of this Science Activity Week.
At the Li Science Museum, through vivid explanations and interactive displays by volunteers, children gained a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the origins of lithium and its physical and chemical properties. They also learned about the intriguing geological facts that lithium resources are mainly found in mines and salt lakes through immersive full-screen videos.
More importantly, the children, together with the volunteers, explored the applications of lithium in modern new energy and energy storage fields. This helped them understand the importance of global green and low-carbon energy transition in actively addressing global climate change and promoting world green sustainable development.
