On March 20th, Chairman Xavier Simonet and a delegation from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission visited Tianqi Lithium. Vice Chairman Jiang Anqi warmly welcomed the delegation and accompanied them on a tour of the Li Science Museum. Leaders including Tang Ruibo, General Manager of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission Greater China, Dai Han, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Tianqi Lithium Director and President Xia Juncheng, and Vice President of Strategic Development Li Guo participated in the exchange.
During their visit to the Li Science Museum, Chairman Xavier and his delegation gained a detailed understanding of the company's lithium resource development, innovation in lithium product research and development, and upstream and downstream collaboration in the lithium industry. Subsequently, discussions were held on Tianqi Lithium's business in Australia, Australian investment policies, and investment strategies at home and abroad. Chairman Xavier expressed gratitude for Tianqi Lithium's contributions to the economic and social development of Australia in recent years. He mentioned that Tianqi Lithium's Kwinana factory in Perth, Western Australia, is the first fully automated battery-grade lithium hydroxide factory in Australia, successfully producing commercially viable battery-grade lithium hydroxide. This demonstrates the high degree of complementarity between Australia and China in economic development, and he hopes the company will increase its investment in Australia.
Vice Chairman Jiang Anqi expressed sincere thanks to the Australian Trade and Investment Commission for its long-standing care and support. He stated that Tianqi Lithium's Kwinana base has actively integrated into the community by supporting cultural education and social welfare projects, providing nearly a thousand job opportunities locally. Additionally, through years of ESG practices, Tianqi Lithium's Kwinana base has achieved fruitful results in carbon reduction, resource development and utilization, and solid waste reuse.
Looking ahead, both sides hope to maintain friendly communication on trade policies, business environment, and sustainable development strategies, and work together to achieve more positive outcomes.
