During Premier Li Qiang’s visit to Australia marking the 10th anniversary of the China–Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, he toured Tianqi Lithium’s Kwinana lithium hydroxide plant.

The Tianqi Lithium Innovation Experimental Institute was completed and put into operation, focusing on breakthrough research in next-generation high-performance lithium battery materials, while advancing R&D in integrated mineral resource utilization, advanced lithium extraction technologies, and battery recycling.

The 30,000 tpa battery-grade lithium hydroxide project was completed and commissioned. It is the first project delivered under Tianqi Lithium’s Five-Year Strategic Plan and the second fully automated battery-grade lithium hydroxide (lithium carbonate) plant in Zhangjiagang.
